With the Auction industry becoming increasingly competitive it was important for Eastbourne Auction Rooms to offer more to its customers and to try and increase its current customer base.

Paul Achilleous the Managing Director of Eastbourne Auctions Rooms approached Lottbridge Systems and asked for the new addition to www.eastbourneauction.com. It had to allow customers to be able to experience and participate in a live auction as it was happening. One of the key elements to this was that Paul wanted his customers to hear the auction with live audio streaming.

Using the latest in streaming interactive media technology Lottbridge Systems created a live bidding module that complemented the existing website and performed exactly as requested. Customers could now engage in auctions as they were happening and place live bids for items they wanted. To manage the live auctions a management console was created that allowed a staff member to follow the auction items and bids as the Auctioneer progresses and this in turn updates the customer’s screens. Plasma screens are also used within the Auction House and these are updated by the management console with the current item images and bidding information such as whether the highest bidder is in the room or on the telephone or on the internet.

When speaking about the new development at Eastbourne Auction Rooms, Managing Director Paul Achilleous said "The live bidding system has added a key element to the auction services we provide. Customers no longer have to be physically present at the Auction House to be able to bid for items they can do it from the comfort of their own homes or offices; this is convenient for them and it has increased the number of bidders we have at our auctions."
